Lady, scram!
Earlier this morning, a lady popped in along with another nurse and began asking us questions about Mom’s skin care. She wanted to conduct an interview on instances of hospital-based skin breakdown. We thought she was simply going to ask us questions, but then came the “do you think your Mom would mind if I turned her on her side to check her back?” Uh, come again?? Did someone miss the memo? Erin said “uhhh, she’s in her dying process, and now’s not a good time.” Mom’s having a difficult time breathing; I’d imagine she wouldn’t appreciate being steamrolled on her side, just in the name of science. Incredibly, the lady objected (a tad), but thankfully, another nurse stepped in to say that wouldn’t be a good idea, what given the fact that we’re trying to have a peaceful moment with mom. Mom would have cracked up over the silliness of the situation. You just can’t write this stuff… -- J
