Echo...Echo

Craig is getting an echocardiogram literally as I type. I probably should ask if I should be here, buuutttt I won't. He's lying on his side with leads connected to his chest and a cold washcloth pressed to his forehead. An echo tech, who looks a bit like Kate Bosworth and not quite legal to drink, will be taking 65 images of his heart over the next half hour.  I'm the old maid on the couch eating her yogurt so that her bones don't break. Pretty surreal. At least "Kate" seems competent.

I can see Craig's heartbeat on her screen, and from this angle it looks like he's pregnant. I knew it! I think that is one test they haven't run on him. Better rule that out too, guys. Kidding aside, it brings tears to my eyes even though the risk of an infection in his heart is pretty slim. They just want to make absolutely sure that his fevers are due to the cancer and not something else.

She just took a sound clip. Craig's heart beating--another moment to burn into memory. Wheeeewww, this is extremely hard. At least his heart sounds strong. ~E
