With My Deepest Regret

An apology is due to my loving family who, over the past few weeks, has endured some of the worst movies ever made; it seems I've lost my movie-picking touch. We started the bad run with Mad Money, which not only required a personal apology to my dear mother, but a promise to never ever, never ever ever rent another movie with Diane Keaton. Love the white suits, but how 'bout we save the over acting for Woody Allen films. We’ve since followed the bad run with Wanted, the Assassination of Jesse James (death by boredom...hey B.P., are we gumming stewed carrots?...What’s the deal with the mouth?), Love in the Time of Cholera (vomit-inducing, or so says C), and the blueberry of it all, My Blueberry Nights. Wow! D, E, and I were sure this was part of some bring your inspired high school screenwriter to work project, but once the credits rolled, we didn’t see a list of theater schools or English departments amongst the recognitions. Maybe we’ve stumbled on another Flashdance and they simply left out the extras. Or, maybe this was really a lesson in over-acting and we just weren’t aware. Why else would Oscar Award Winning actors and actresses give colossally bad performances? Whatever the case, Blueberry was my last attempt. I know God loves a tryer, but I think I’ll spare us all and hang up the Blockbuster card for a bit. -- J

  1. I am cracking up, I've been annoyed by Diane Keaton for as long as I can remember, and most people just adore her and think I'm nuts. I think she's a horrible actress who overdoes it all. Yes, you're fabulous, we get it. Get over yourself and make a good movie now and then. :)

Wall-e is the best animated movie I've seen since Nemo. Check that one out when you can so you can have faith in the film industry again.
